Best Air Mattress for Camping Review
An inflatable air mattress for camping is a great alternative to whatever else you may want to use. It will convert you to joys of glamping if you hadn’t been yet.
If you were unfamiliar with the term ‘glamping’ then let me shed some light on it. Glamping is glamorous camping and although I’m sure many of you are hardcore trekkers, there is a definitive time and place for glamping. Sometimes you just want to pack up the vehicles for a last minute trip to the outdoors to relax and not deal with some of the minor nuisances with traditional camping.
This is where inflatable air mattresses come into play. Many campers (or dare I say glampers) have opted for an outdoor slumber that transcends the sleeping bags of yesteryear. An inflatable air mattress for camping typically can be packed up easily, comes with convenient air pumps, and provides comfort that will make you question your former loyalty to sleeping bags. No more twigs on the wilderness floor gouging your spine through the bottom of the tent. And that rock that is under your neck all night? Not anymore friend. Inflatable air mattresses not only prevent such discomforts, but they will elevate your comfort to a whole new dimension.
Depending on how much luxury fits in your budget, we have reviewed the cheap end and the high end of inflatable air mattresses for camping. Because like these inflatable air mattresses, we at Best Camping Supply Reviews will always have your back.
Top 5: Best Air Mattress for Camping
1. Intex Comfort Plush Elevated Dura-Beam Airbed (Best Air Mattress for Camping)
Pros: For $55 (price may vary) this is a steal. I would almost consider replacing my home bed with this inflatable air mattress because of the value. It is super soft and I had no issues with it.
Cons: Okay so now for the ugly of it. This one worked for me but there is a large gap between the superbly satisfied buyers and the very unhappy ones. The consensus seems to be that when it works, it works like a charm. The bad is that it has a high percentage (about 18%) of Amazon customers that faced serious issues with this. The pump would break or it would get punctured. Heed my warning and do some supplemental research.
2. SoundAsleep Dream Series Air Mattress (Best Air Mattress for Camping)
Pros: This inflatable mattress has some serious durability and longevity to it. I like the style of it and the raised edges make nice nooks for setting flashlights or whatever you may need by your side. I slept like a baby on this thing.
Cons: There were a few complaints that the air flowing through the air mattress throughout the night sounds like a vacuum. I guess it depends on how light of a sleeper you are and if that would be problematic.
3. Coleman SupportRest Double High Airbed (Best Air Mattress for Camping)
Pros: This is great at supporting weight and for people who roll around a lot in their sleep.
Cons: The pump for this kind of blows and not in the way it’s supposed to blow. I almost guarantee you will need to get a pump elsewhere.
4. Intex Dura-Beam Standard Series Deluxe Pillow Rest Raised Airbed (Best Air Mattress for Camping)
Pros: This is a very easy-to-assemble inflatable air mattress. It has no problem holding weight and provides a great night’s rest.
Cons: It is a little low to the ground. Some folks have stated that it doesn’t have much longevity. It seemed to last about 3 months for those people but it didn’t seem like a common issue. Obligatory ‘buyer beware’.
5. WonderSleep Classic Series Air Mattress (Best Air Mattress for Camping)
Pros: This is a very thick and durable solution to your sleeping needs. It works with fitted sheets and includes a built in air pump that works pretty well at the job.
Cons: As with the other inflatable air mattresses, there were some folks saying that it lost air on the first night of use and wasn’t durable. However, only 10% of Amazon reviewers gave it 1 star which seems to be the lowest negative feedback out of this list.
